The Song of Carousel

People came from the prairies, they came from the void,

They brought their pennies and are ready to pay.

A Butcher or a Beaver, there is only one boat –

Decide are you in or you stay.

They long what their dream was abou

t,It’s a Merry-Go-Round, it’s a Roundabout,

Revolver, whatever you say.

With you or without

There’s always a crowd

You’re welcome to CAROUSEL!

You saddle a horse, or saddle a pony,

Despite it is false, despite it is phony

You saddle whatever it is.

To feel yourself proud —

break out of the crowd

So now the journey begins.

We are all only children, we love repetition,

We ask the magician

Same story again and again

The end is beginning,

Perpetual spinning

Each stanza repeating refrain.

We hate any change and value our habits

That’s why we invented this huge apparatus.

You’ll pass the same road, won’t turn anywhere

It’s a Merry-Go-Round, not Silly-Go-Square

Fear of the unknown is completely forgotten

The path has been passed a hundred times,

That loop we’ve been thrown, we’ve been caught in

Every stone is known here, every blade of grass

This road is beaten, banal as a refrain,

But we love to walk over it again and again

The carousel spins around like a snake

Who forgot where the tail is, where the head is.

Only endless movement without brake

The same, all the same ahead – Oh, it depresses.
